This World Mental Health Day, 2025, CEO Nick shares some reflections of the year. He offers thoughts both personally and for EYMH. He also discusses the state of youth mental health at present.
Happy World Mental Health Day 2025 everyone! Its been a strange old year both professionally and personally.
My mental health has been taking quite a journey. This summer, I received a diagnosis of ADHD. I am still waiting to discuss support. Nonetheless, this diagnosis has opened my eyes to some of the things I have been having difficulties with, including my mental health.
Professionally EYMH has been going through quite a few changes over the last year, with a couple of key changes having happened. These include:
- Our Senior Leadership Team, growing to 4 (Myself, Ella, Anna and TJ).
- The Senior Leadership Team now meets once a week for a ‘stand up’ meeting, to check-in each week, which has proven very positive.
- Our Young Leaders program shutting down (for the time being, a new idea is being formulated).
- The recruitment of brand new Chairs of our Trustee Board. Yep thats right ‘chairs’ plural, we have a Co-Chair situation and they are brilliant! We will introduce you to them soon.
There are lots more, hopefully positive, changes on the horizon. The Board of Trustees is becoming more solidified. We hope to finally register as a Charity in the UK either late 2025, or early 2026. We have a few collaborative bids in with Horizon funding via EU. We will get results about these bids in January 2026. We are also planning our first ever EYMH internal Young Experts residential, hopefully to run in March 2026.
For World mental health day 2025! Amazing Young Experts, Irene, shared a lovely message with us.
This year, we are focusing on hope. There is alot going on in the world at the moment that could easily suck this energy away from us. However, if we look to our battles of the past, whether personal or bigger that than, we have come through them.
Take your time, dont rush, always ask for help when you need it. We’re there is hope there is always a way.
These beautiful words from one of our YOUNG EXPERTS from Italy share exactly that.

Thank you to Irene and all Young Experts in our network for your tireless awesome – ness.
